Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day

Salt Spring Cookie Company, a business owned and operated by two working mothers! Friends first, business partners later, we found common ground in the juggling act that comes with motherhood and pursuing a life outside of the home. Motherhood is the most rewarding, exhausting and exhilarating job we’ve ever had. The sleepless nights, the meltdowns in the middle of the parking lot, the sweet kisses, sticky fingers, the heartbreak of losing our cool, and the forgiveness that ensues.  It is a rollercoaster ride, but it is worth every penny.

Mother’s Day can be a hard day for some, but it is that extra opportunity and nudge to express our gratitude to the special mothers in our lives. For the endless sacrifices they have made, and the scraped knees they have mended.

What does Mother’s Day mean to you? It may bring joy and treasured memories. To others, it may be bring the opposite. It is a day to remember, to mourn, to give thanks and celebrate. It is also a day to ignore if this day brings too much pain.

To my own mama, who passed away 5 years ago, I miss and love you everyday for all of eternity. I am grateful for every little thing that you blessed us with. And to Myriam’s mama, who lives far far away across countries, thank you for raising such a wonderful mama, friend and business partner. To the other mama figures in our lives; our mother in laws, aunties, grandmas, and more, we thank you for holding us in your hearts with love.

To our sweet babies, who made us moms; being your mom brings us more love than we ever thought possible, it is infinite and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

Three cheers to the moms, wherever they are in world or universe. We are who we are because of you, and we thank you with a deep gratitude for all that you have offered us.

Happy Mother’s Day.

Now go eat that delicious cookie!
